Welcome to Petra Reformed Baptist Church
Located in the heart of Kampala, Uganda, Petra Reformed Baptist Church has been a beacon of biblical truth. We’re a gospel-centered community committed to glorifying God through His Word.
"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ! I’m Pastor Obed Muhereza, and on behalf of our elders and families, I invite you to join us as we seek the true Lord Jesus our saviour. There’s a place for you here."

Who We Are
We are a church plant under Reconciliation Baptist Church (RBC) , joyfully proclaiming the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ—our Savior who lived, died, and rose again. Rooted in the historic 1689 London Baptist Confession, we believe this statement of faith faithfully reflects the teachings of Scripture and shapes our mission: to preach salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone (Romans 1:16–17). As a family-integrated and elder-led church, we worship together across generations, encouraging parents to disciple their children while our elders shepherd us with biblical wisdom.
From praying together on Saturday evenings to seeing families grow in faith, we’re a community united by the gospel.
Why We Exist
Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). In a land where His name is widely known yet often misunderstood, we exist to proclaim the true Christ of Scripture. Our mission is to make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20), raising up men and women shaped by God’s Word to carry the gospel across Kampala and beyond—by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Join Us
We gather every Sunday for Bible study at 10:00 AM and worship from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, plus Saturday prayers from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Expect heartfelt worship, verse-by-verse preaching, and a warm welcome from our families. Bring your Bible, your questions, and your heart—we’ll seek Christ together.

Statement of Faith
A Summary of London Baptist confession
- We believe in the one true and living God, in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who is invisible, personal, omnipresent, eternal, dependent on none, unchanging, truthful, trustworthy, almighty, sovereign, omniscient, righteous, holy, good, loving, merciful, long-suffering, and gracious.
- We believe that Almighty God has revealed all that is necessary to life and salvation in the sixty-six books of Holy Scripture, which are the Word of God, infallible and inerrant in all their parts.
- We believe that God made our first father Adam perfect, holy, and upright, appointed as head of the human race, affecting all his offspring by his obedience or disobedience.
- We believe that Adam fell into sin, bringing death, condemnation, and slavery to sin upon himself and all his offspring.
- We believe it is beyond fallen man’s power to love God, keep His laws, understand the Gospel, repent, or trust in Christ.
- We believe God, before the world’s foundation, elected a host to eternal life by His sovereign grace, not based on human merit.
- We believe God sent His Son, born of the virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit, fully God and man, to live a perfect life for His elect.
- We believe God’s Son died at Calvary to satisfy God’s wrath and secure redemption for His elect, raised to prove His work’s acceptance.
- We believe God’s Son ascended to His Father’s right hand, interceding and ruling for His people.
- We believe the Holy Spirit, sent by the Son, regenerates the elect alongside the preached word, drawing them to faith.
- We believe the elect are justified by Christ’s imputed righteousness alone, received by faith alone.
- We believe the regenerated shall persevere in holiness and never finally fall away.
- We believe the Ten Commandments summarize God’s moral law, a standard every believer should obey.
- We believe believers should join a local church, submitting to its discipline, and that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are for the regenerated.
- We believe worship is regulated by Scripture alone, with only qualified men as elders and deacons.
- We believe the local church is under Christ’s authority, yet accountable to other churches.
- We believe Christ will return to raise the dead, granting eternal life to the righteous and punishment to the wicked.
